THEY SAY: "Seventh-generation Patrol pays homage to the nameplate’s illustrious legacy, while delivering on future-ready innovation."
WE SAY: Nissan has finally taken the ageing Y62 Patrol to the butcher's for a "walk". There's no time to mourn, though, as the new one has already been revealed. Say goodbye to the primordial if loveable V8, and hello to a twin-turbocharged V6 – derived from the GT-R, no less – which produces enough torque to reverse Earth's rotation.
The new Patrol is a formidable piece of kit that is packed to the rafters with off-road equipment. There's a '4WD transfer mode interlock system', adaptive air suspension, and an array of on- and off-road driving roads to name but a few of the highlights.
Most importantly, the interior no longer looks like the inside of a fourth-century monastery. One could even describe it as rather luxurious, and we aren't even being paid to say that.

Other
- Australian order books open in late 2026
- Expected to have a wading depth of at least 700mm
- There'll be a tougher PRO-4X version on offer in the US. It's unclear if this version will be offered elsewhere.
- Other markets will also have access to a naturally aspirated 3.8-litre V6 model with 236kW of power and a paltry 386Nm of torque. Australia won't be getting it. We're not missing out.
